INTRODUCTION
Gallery Bund 22 is established by Peter Brown Fine Art from the UK in association with SPG Associates from Hong Kong. The two company joined forces to open the gallery on 24th May, 2014. The gallery is located at Bund 22, the junction between Old and New Bund, the eldest red-brick Historical Preservation building on the Bund. The building, originally constructed by the Swire Pacific Limited of England was built in 1906 with exquisite architectural style.
The gallery features artists from France, such as the very famous oil painter Michel Jouenne, born 1933 and who counts amongst the most established values in the art world today. Sculpture artists duo Mazel & Jalix, their unique creation of original bronze and patina allows a new art style of glazing sculptures, which is approbated deeply by the collectors from Grater China Area. The gallery also exhibits works of upcoming contemporary artists who are at the very beginning of their artistic career, such as Fabiola Govare.
Gallery Bund 22 holds exhibitions quarterly in the Art Center, featuring an enchanting art theme with a selection of oil paintings, sculptures, art installations and other art forms from talented European and Chinese artists. VIP events and special auctions comes along with the exhibition. Please stay tuned.
PHILOSOPHY
Just as the building of Bund 22 bridges the gap separating buildings, thereby creating a breathtaking atrium inside of Bund 22, Gallery Bund 22 stands as a symbol of transcendence of artistic boundaries and aims to create a physical and symbolic space of development of artistic relations and communication.
Giving a change to rising talent is our ultimate mission, as our belief is that these artists, with their wider perception of the things happening in the outer and inner worlds, will contribute to the rising of awareness of any observer. In a world that is busy with being busy, with the masses engulfed in too complex lives, too many complicated processes, where the system puts unprecedented pressure on individuals, we believe in contributing moments of awareness, moments of looking into our souls through the eyes of an artist, a glimpse bringing us back to our original selves, is invaluable and a pressing necessity. Through bringing to China artists from Europe, a continent rich in history, rich in a succession of periods of war and peace, we believe a connection, the space can happen at the gallery, which could be at any moment that we cannot foresee today.
Bringing foreign artists to a new land nourishes our spirit of adventure and exploration of new territories, in an always peaceful mindset, where we will experience the essence of human emotion as new pairs of eye-balls will gaze at these messages of art, in the form of oil paintings, acrylic paintings, sculptures and other media of art, coming from far away. In the world of high-speed development, we trust that curiosity and tolerance for the unknown will remain an important factor for human thought evolution
